Duplex apartment with swimming pool and terrace, 4 minutes walk from the beach/sea
Our duplex apartment 4 minutes walk from the beach. Located in a suburb of Tarragona with terraces, restaurants, pharmacy, bakery and two modern supermarkets. Just a 15 minute walk from the beautiful old town of Tarragona.
Located on the top two floors with beautiful views of a green hill, the pool and the sea. Living room is sunny and bright. Nice south-facing terrace with lots of privacy and adjacent to both the living room and the kitchen.
Two bedrooms with each two beds and a bathroom. In the living room an extra floor with sofa bed.
Community pool with garden. Private covered parking and amenities, such as air conditioning, washing machine and dishwasher, fast WIFI, cable TV and outdoor kitchen.
Location
Tarragona is a coastal city in the Spanish autonomous region Catalonia. It is the capital of de province of Tarragona and is about 90 kilometers below Barcelona on the Costa Daurada. There are two international airports nearby, Barcelona and Reus.
Transport
To get from the airport of Barcelona to Tarragona city you can take a rental car (all major rental companies are present) or you can take the shuttle bus from/to Tarragona with a travel time of approximately one hour. Advance booking is recommended, for example at Busplana. There is also a shuttle bus from Reus, but the ride is so short that you can also take a taxi or Uber.
Several buses stop near our house. You can go by bus to the city center (although you can also easily walk) or to other beaches such as Playa Larga or La Mora. For excursions such as to Barcelona, Reus, Vilanova i la Geltrú, etc., you can take the bus or train. We always use Google Maps to find the best bus/train and that works fine.
Climate
Tarragona has a warm Mediterranean climate according to the Köppen-Geiger climate classification. The maximum temperature in Tarragona throughout the year averages 21°C (from 14°C in January to 30°C in August).
The average sea temperature ranges from 14°C in winter to 25°C in summer.
The number of hours of sunshine in Tarragona is nice: from an average of 7 hours of sunshine per day in winter (sitting in the sun without a jacket outside on a terrace) to 11 hours of sunshine per day in summer. A multiple of that in the Netherlands.
