Tarragona.casa in the spotlight

We prefer to talk about Tarragona. But we thought it to be nice to also tell you something about our own website Tarragona.casa and our audience. An audience that now consists of about 2,500 unique visitors per month. And with an average stay of 8.5 minutes per visit on our website and blog.

We are very grateful that our initiative is so successful. When we started this website and blog about two years ago, it was without much expectation. A spontaneous initiative driven by our love for this authentic city. A passion that we wanted to share with others (where the heart is full...). With only a handful of visitors in the beginning and modest growth.

But in the meantime, our Tarragona website has grown autonomously into a true source of information about Tarragona. We get about 2,500 unique visitors per month. And the growth continues steadily. Also because Google puts us at the top of some search results.

What makes us most happy is that our readers spend an average of 8 minutes and 27 seconds on our website and blog. So people actually read our website and blog…

And we also regularly receive emails from readers with all sorts of questions, ranging from whether the shops are open on a certain holiday, tips for emigrating to Tarragona, up to suggestions for locations to get married. Really awesome.

Readers all over the world

It's also fun to see where our readers come from. See the image above showing the number of web sessions by country. It is logical that the vast majority of our readers come from Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium and the United Kingdom (because the website is available in the native languages of these countries). But it turns out that we have readers in all continents, even in countries such as (a small random selection): India, China, Japan, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Kuwait, Nigeria, Panama, etc. In total, our readers come from 98 countries. If you consider that there are a total of 196 countries in the world, we reach half of them.

For the love of Tarragona

Having many interested readers: so we must be getting rich? No, not at all. Not a cent. It gives us nothing more than a good feeling that Tarragona is so positively in the spotlight. And that's enough for us, that's what we do it for.

But maybe that's for the best. It gives us the freedom to show the authentic Tarragona, beyond the well-known tourist posters. Stories such as the hidden caves under the center, the street art, remains of the Spanish Civil War, and much more. And often with a nod and a bridge to the Dutch situation.

Enough about ourselves

We hope everyone enjoys our website, our blog but especially Tarragona. And please send us an email with suggestions, ideas, opinions, questions, stories, or any other reaction.

We close this blog with what it's all about: Tarragona. Please get in the mood with he nice 2-minute promotional video below.

And one last tip: Visiting our website is fun, but visiting Tarragona itself is even more fun!
